Frequently asked questions

What is Ureka?

Ureka is an AI parenting companion that helps parents record conversations, generate transcripts, and review structured suggestions after difficult or meaningful moments.

Who is it for?

It is designed for parents who want a calmer, more structured way to reflect on how a conversation went and what to try next.

How do I get started?

Choose a language, review Settings, record a 6-second voice sample, then start a recording or upload a conversation longer than 30 seconds for analysis.

Why does the app ask for a 6-second sample?

The short sample helps Ureka identify your voice more accurately inside longer multi-speaker recordings.

Does the app record automatically?

No. Recording is user controlled. Auto-upload only takes effect after a recording exists.

When is audio uploaded?

Audio stays on device until you upload it yourself or enable the app's auto-upload behavior.

How long is uploaded data kept?

Uploaded audio is deleted after transcription completes, which usually takes a few minutes. Transcripts are retained for up to one week so users can review or download them, and short summaries may remain longer for continuity.

Which languages are supported?

The current onboarding and transcription flow supports English and Simplified Chinese.

Can I delete recordings or my account?

Yes. Local recordings can be removed in the app, and account deletion is available from the account settings flow.

Where can I review the privacy terms?

Use the Privacy page on this site or the Data Privacy view inside the app for the current summary of recording consent and retention behavior.
